A family in Newark is seeking the public's assistance in finding the person who shot and killed a man inside his own living room.
Devion Burch, 20, was gunned down Monday night in the living room of their home on South 10th Street. Desiree Coombs was in the very next room, but couldn't save her son.
"I heard my son scream 'No.' I heard a pop," says Coombs. "And then I heard a crash."

Coombs rushed out to find her son on the floor, and whoever shot him was gone.
She says Burch suffered from schizophrenia and had gotten into a fight over the weekend. She is unsure if that had anything to do with his death.

"I lost custody of Devion when he was 2, and I recently got him back at the age of 17, and it breaks my heart that I've only had him three years back in my life," says Coombs.
