A grandmother in Neptune says her 5-year-old grandson was dropped off at the wrong bus stop and was forced to find his own way home on Thursday.
Angerlene Curry says she's upset that there wasn't a bus aide, and that the bus driver apparently did not keep track of where to drop off her grandson.
The Neptune Schools superintendent says it was believed that the boy got off the bus and went to a neighbor's house, but adds that the matter is under investigation.
The general manager of the bus company says there are always issues on the first day of school. The company, Seman-Tov Busing, says it's in close contact with the district, but did not elaborate on any investigation.
However, all sides agreed that a 5-year-old being dropped off at the wrong spot and then walking home is unacceptable.
