A badly cracked sidewalk in Bergenfield is causing major problems for a man with multiple sclerosis who uses a scooter to get around.
Rudolph Murray says he took a bad fall last month while trying to avoid the cracked sidewalk. He says he depends on his scooter to get into Foster Village via the sidewalk. When he fell, Murray says he was stuck under his scooter until a pedestrian helped him up.
Murray says the sidewalk has been a problem for years, but his recent fall motivated him to get it fixed. He says his calls to the town and the stores in Foster Village were not helpful. ?Everybody pass[es] it back and forth, back and forth, but the sidewalk needs to be fixed,? says Murray.
News 12 New Jersey made some phone calls and found out the landlord of Foster Village owns the sidewalk and is responsible for fixing it. ABA Realty of Englewood Cliffs says it was unaware of the issue and has no problem making the repairs.
