The rise in COVID-19 cases has forced the cancellation of the Fairleigh Dickinson men's and women's basketball conference openers vs. Mount St. Mary's Wednesday.
Northeast Conference officials say as per the COVID-19 forfeit and cancellation policy both teams will be assigned a win in the NEC standings, giving each a 1-0 start in conference play.
The forfeits won't impact the teams' overall record.
The teams return to action Friday.
