The FAA slowed flights into Newark Liberty International Airport Monday afternoon due to a radar issue, which caused delays and cancellations during a high-volume travel day.

"You can't control everything, it is what it is," said Brian Gann, who had their flight delayed twice and then canceled.

The issue started around 2:30 p.m. when the airport was notified of a equipment outage and it caused a ground stop. Since then, FlightAware reported about 350 delays and nearly 30 cancellations at the airport. It's become a ripple effect for flyers who would like to return home in time for work.

"They told us that by 5:15 we would be landing and we didn't land until 6. Unfortunately for people that have connecting flights, that causes a problem," said Chris Kall, flying into Newark Airport.

EWR posted to X today saying that FAA equipment outages have caused these flight disruptions. They apologized for the issue on that post and asked to please check with your airline to determine the status of your flight.
