(01/10/06) HILLSBOROUGH ? Two men were rushed to the hospital with severe burns Tuesday following a massive explosion in Hillsborough.
The blast occurred outside Allied Oil Company while the two victims were working on a tanker truck. A 54-year-old Basking Ridge man and a 37-year-old Dunellen man were taken to the hospital. They are being treated for first, second and third-degree burns over 50 percent of their bodies.
Police do not know what sparked the explosion. An eyewitness says the force of the blast was strong enough to shake the entire building. That person also claims the explosion was the loudest noise he had ever heard.
