Ex-UFC fighter Karl Roberson accused of stealing $200K worth of jewelry from Howell home

A former UFC fighter and a second person have been accused of stealing more than $200,000 in exotic jewelry and other items from a Howell Township home last year.
Howell Township police say that Karl Roberson and Dathan Thompson broke into a home on West Farms Road on Dec. 26, 2022. Police say that they forced open a rear door and stole the items from the home’s master bedroom.
The incident was captured on the home’s security cameras, but the suspects were wearing masks and gloves.
Police say that Thompson was arrested at his Neptune home on March 27. He was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Roberson was arrested during a traffic stop in Neptune also on March 27. Police say that he was driving a vehicle that was connected to the burglary. He was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He also faces weapons and drug charges because police say there was a 9mm handgun and suspected “crack cocaine” and marijuana in the vehicle.
Roberson is a former kickboxer and mixed martial artist. He made his debut in the UFC in 2017 and fought until 2022.
