Evesham man sentenced to 34 years for killing man, dog during robbery

A man was sentenced to 34 years in prison for killing a man and his dog.

The attack happened on Feb. 5, 2022. Investigators say Donovan Hollingsworth went to Thomas Pierson’s Evesham apartment, intending to rob him. They say Pierson fought back and Hollingsworth stabbed him multiple times. He also attacked the dog – a Cane Corso named Django – killing the dog as well.

Hollingsworth was sentenced to 30 years in prison with no eligibility for parole for the murder and an additional four years in prison for killing the dog.
