Environmentalists rallied at the Northport Yacht Club to promote the Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Bond Act.
They say the $4 billion project would restore Long Island’s shorelines and reduce flooding.
They also say it will also provide crucial support for New York's economy, supporting over 100,000 green jobs.
The act will be on a statewide ballot in November. If passed, it will be the first environmental bond in 26 years.
