An employee of the Sea Shell Motel in Beach Haven was found dead in a resort pool Tuesday.
The body of 28-year-old Gilberto Perez Ramirez was discovered at around 9 a.m. Investigators are awaiting toxicology reports to see if drugs or alcohol played a part in the drowning.
The drowning appears to be accidental, according to the prosecutor's office. Police and the motel owners will not comment on the incident.
Neighbors of the motel say the resort is a popular place to drink. Ramirez reportedly lived around the corner from the location.
Autopsy results could take several days to be completed.
