Any travelers headed to Newark Liberty International Airport Friday should expect delays.
Snowstorms in the Midwest delayed many early flights at Newark Liberty. At one point, the airport?s Web site was listing delays anywhere from one hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Travelers are urged to check with their airline before heading to the airport. Port Authority officials also urge all travelers to arrive early to avoid long check-in and security lines.
Meanwhile, there was plenty of traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike Friday afternoon. In addition to the normal rush-hour traffic, travelers heading into and out of the Garden State packed the roadways. Many drivers say they expect the delays and take it slow to avoid accidents.
