A just-hatched eaglet is getting a cold introduction to the world in Hillsborough.
It is the first of two eggs this season for a nesting pair of bald eagles.
A live look from
the Duke Farms Eagle Cam shows the nest rocking back and forth in strong winds, covered in thick, wet snow.
The mother is sheltered underneath the snow as she protects the baby and the remaining unhatched egg. Staff say eagle feathers are waterproof, keeping both safe and warm despite the conditions.
