A drunk driver crashed into the boardwalk in Spring Lake early Monday morning, according to police.
A witness said a Ford pickup truck left the roadway and crashed through the boardwalk around 12:18 a.m., police say. They say the witness also reported the truck attempted to leave the scene.
Authorities say the driver, 39-year-old Julian Munoz, of Spring Lake, was still on the scene when officers arrived. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the crash.

Munoz was arrested and charged with DUI, driving while suspended, unlicensed driver and multiple other related traffic offenses. He was processed and later released.
Authorities say the owner of the truck, 28-year-old Marvin Cruz-Palma, of Passaic, was also charged with multiple offenses, including allowing a suspended driver to operate a motor vehicle.
