? Some drivers who park on Fordham Road in the Bronx feel they?re being unfairly ticketed, and they say a lack of signs is to blame.
Drivers say there is only one sign for a stretch of the road and they can?t see it from some of the parking meters. One driver parked about 30 feet away from the sign, put money in the meter and returned to find a $115 ticket. Residents feel the problem would be easily fixed if the Department of Transportation (DOT) adds more signs.
The DOT says the restricted parking signs are meant to ease rush hour traffic for buses. The DOT is investigating the issue, but adds that having one sign is legal. Officials urge drivers to survey the entire block before parking.
