The Bronx Brewery is celebrating Pride Month with some iconic queens and it is all for a good cause.
Thursday night's event had performances from beloved drag queens like Angel Elektra and Shay'd Pines and even featured a new Pride-inspired beer called Some Like It Hopped - a play on the 1959 Marilyn Monroe film.
Organizers and community members say celebrating Pride this year feels extra special.
"It just kind of feels like being back to where we were a year and a half ago before everything took place," said lead bartender Christine Correa. "It's just a reminder that in the South Bronx everyone comes together in this crazy unified way."
Some of the proceeds from Thursday's sales will go to Callen-Lorde, a community health center in the Bronx that specializes in providing the queer community with health care like gender affirming and sexual health services.
