The office for Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman tells News 12 that former President Donald Trump still plans to hold his Wednesday rally at the Nassau Coliseum.

The county executive and Nassau police commissioner will hold a 1 p.m. news conference Monday to discuss security measures.

Earlier in the day Sunday, the Secret Service says agents opened fire at an individual who pointed a rifle at the former president while he was on the golf course at his club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The FBI says the incident “appears to be an attempted assassination." One person is in custody, according to the Martin County sheriff.
