Dog left abandoned, found tied to bench in Ocean City

A dog was found tied to a bench outside a pet adoption service in Ocean City with a note stating the person could no longer care for them.
The dog was found abandoned shortly after midnight at Humane Society of Ocean City on Aug. 1. Video shows a person in all black tie the dog to the bench and leave.
The dog was seen on video wagging their tail the entire time and looking to see where the person went.
According to a note left with the dog, she is a 1-year-old Pitbull named Mello. She is fixed and up to date on her shots.
“People are dumping these animals like never has been seen before and we think we as a society need to try to wrap our heads around it and figure out what the heck is going on,” the society wrote in a Facebook post.
Humane Society of Ocean City says this was the fourth dog dumped outside the animal shelter in the last 30 days.
