Coyotes are becoming a familiar sight in New Jersey and it doesn't look like they're going to disappear anytime soon. Experts say development in New Jersey has forced coyotes out of the wilderness, so the chance of seeing one has increased. They may not look vicious but Parker Space, of Space Farms in Wantage, says coyotes are killers and have no problem making a meal out of rodents, cats or dogs. Space says there are ways to decrease the chance of seeing a coyote on your property. He says keep garbage can lids on tight, don't leave food for your pet outside, don't allow children or pets outside at night and don't feed coyotes or other wild animals.
