Detectives are searching for evidence Wednesday after a woman was murdered at a Neptune Township motel.

The woman?s body was found at the Crystal Inn on Route 35 at the Asbury Circle. More than a dozen bullet casings were recovered from the back parking lot of the motel. The manager of the motel says this is the first murder since the motel opened 28 years ago.

According to the motel manager, he gets identification of every person who checks in. He adds that he does not allow long-term stays. The Monmouth County prosecutor says the murder doesn?t appear to be linked to the recent gang-related killings in the Asbury Park area.
