Montclair State University police have launched an investigation into a derogatory message found written on a door in a university housing complex.
Police say the message was discovered yesterday in the Heights residence complex. Police are calling the action a bias incident.
"These actions are considered grossly unacceptable and a violation of university policies," a university spokesperson said in a news release this afternoon. "Any individual(s) found responsible for such actions will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
The incident is the second of its kind in just as many weeks. Last week, a threatening homophobic message was found on campus. The message prompted campus police to increase patrols and even put snipers on buildings.
