While many were excited to hear Gov. Chris Christie's plan to lower taxes, Democratic leaders say this particular plan is proof that the governor is looking out for the rich at the expense of everyone else.
Senate President Steve Sweeney (D) says that the cuts are another windfall for multi-millionaires in the state at the expense of schools.
Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D) says that with the cuts that Gov. Christie spoke about, a millionaire will see a tax cut of $7,000. The average $50,000 workers will get $80 back. Weinberg also says that if that average worker has a home, his property tax will go up three times the amount of the tax break.
Democrats say they won't stand for the cuts, especially if the governor wants to pay for them by cutting funds to education.
