From an autumn chill to a summery warm-up, this week has something for everyone in the forecast.
Morning lows for most were in the 30s, allowing for the first frost of the season in the Pine Barrens and northwest corner of the state. Ample sunshine and a favorable wind allowed temperatures to recover quickly, warming 25 to 30 degrees from those morning lows.
That favorable wind and sunshine will continue to warm New Jersey temperatures this week. Daily highs are expected to reach into the 70s for the rest of the week and near 80 by Saturday! (A little too warm for my liking this time of year, but that's another story)
TONIGHT: Mainly clear. Chilly, just not as cold as this morning. Lows: 38-48 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Mainly sunny. Warmer. Feels more like the middle of May. High near 74.
THURSDAY: Sun and clouds. Warmer still. Highs near 79. (Record-challenging warmth here – 79 degrees in 1964 is the record we could match or exceed.)
FRIDAY: The hits just keep on coming. Sun and clouds. Still warm. High of 77 degrees.
