Danbury schools were closed Monday due to a boil water advisory issued by the city after a water main break on Hayestown Avenue.
The break, which occurred Sunday, has been repaired, but officials were waiting for water sample results to ensure the water is safe to drink.
The results won't be available until Tuesday, prompting the advisory and school closures.
Residents are also advised to boil their tap water before using it for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
