Cyclists, spectators take to Somerville streets for oldest bike race in America
Crowds filled the streets of Somerville this Memorial Day for the oldest bike race in America.
The Tour of Somerville, in its 76th year, features world-class cyclists going head-to-head.
The event draws in racers from across the country and the world. Cyclists take part in a variety of competitions.
The main event, which kicked off just after 4 p.m., includes a men's 50-mile course and a women's 25-mile course. Along the way, fans cheer them on from restaurants, bars and yard parties.
The free event expected to welcome in up to 30,000 people each year.
