Cybersecurity incidents reported at Cape May, Woodbine water facilities
Officials say the security breaches did not compromise the safety or quality of public drinking water in either area.

Officials have identified two New Jersey water utilities that were impacted by a cybersecurity incident last month.
The incidents were reported on July 27 and affected the facilities in the City of Cape May and the Borough of Woodbine. The cyberattacks caused communication systems to be lost.

But officials say the security breaches did not compromise the safety or quality of public drinking water in either area.
"Our highest priorities are protecting public health, maintaining reliable water service, and safeguarding our systems," said Cape May city manager Paul Dietrich. "We acted quickly to contain the incident…and eradicate the threat."
