People down the shore finally got the chance to enjoy the sun and sand Sunday.
Crowds flocked to the beach as high temperatures were in the 90s, and that's expected to last for the next few days.
After days of wet weather, residents took advantage of the sun and were out on the boardwalk and beach.
Long Branch residents and visitors took in the ocean breeze, which was a good thing for local businesses looking for a busy day.
Steve Xanthacos, of the Beach Hut, says his chain of snack bars was ready to serve the hot and hungry beachgoers their favorite foods.
"Our biggest sellers would be probably cheesesteaks, Italian sausage, Italian hot dogs, the cold brew, the fresh lemonade and hamburgers and hot dogs always,” he says.
Those who came out enjoyed gentle waves and light southeast winds that are expected to pick up throughout the week.
Others enjoyed boating or rowing on the waves. Some brave joggers and walkers even sweated through the sweltering conditions to get some exercise.
Most who made it out say they are grateful for the dry, summer weather.
"To all those folks out there complaining about the heat--it's the most beautiful day," says David Ben Hooren, of Deal. "Yes, it's a little bit hot but it doesn't stop us from enjoying the day."
