? Governor Jon Corzine (D-NJ) is speaking out about an Arab company?s deal with U.S. officials to manage Port Newark.
The governor told News 12 New Jersey he believes that allowing the government-run company Dubai Ports World access to U.S. ports could pose a security risk. Corzine cites reports that link the government to 9/11 terrorists, terrorist funding and nuclear dealings with Iran and North Korea. The state filed a federal lawsuit Thursday to try and block the deal.
However, President Bush stands behind the Dubai takeover, which he reportedly did not know about until after the deal was finalized.
