Police are investigating two shooting incidents that occurred just blocks apart in Paterson.Authorities say police officers exchanged gunfire with a fleeing suspect at around 3:30 a.m. at Fair and Straight streets. Officials say it is not yet known if the suspect was shot and the officers are believed to be OK.Three people were also shot at Hamilton and Carol streets shortly before midnight. One of the victims was apparently shot in the back and all three people were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
