Police say a New Brunswick man is in custody for vandalizing several Jewish-owned businesses in Highland Park.
At least five businesses were hit, including Jack?s Hardware and Judaica Gallery. Cops say anything from toilet seat covers to concrete were thrown at the stores? windows. Richard Green is currently charged with criminal mischief. The prosecutor?s office says it is investigating if he is also responsible for other acts over the past few days, and if the charges will be upgraded to a bias crime.
Nothing was stolen from the stores.
Members of the community say they are shocked by Green?s alleged actions.
