Fair weather is slowly moving in over New Jersey tonight. As it does, it will continue to squeeze the air, creating a stiff breeze that will continue into tomorrow. The wind is coming from western New York and Canada, which means drier but cooler than normal temperatures. The normal temperature this time of year is 55 degrees. We can count our blessings if the temperature reaches 45 degrees for the daily high.
Skies will clear tonight, and colder Canadian air begins its journey through the northeast. Nighttime lows will drop into the 20s and low 30s. Most of the region will be below the freezing mark.
As mentioned above, Saturday's forecast is filled with sunshine, but temperatures will be on the seasonably disappointing side. The dry breezy weather will carry over into Saturday night. Nighttime lows will once again be cooler than average. Normal bedtime temperatures usually hover around 38 degrees. It will be closer to freezing once again on Sunday morning.
Next week looks warmer. There may even be one or two days where the afternoon highs reach for the 70s. It looks like the weather pattern is going to be a little unsettled. While the air warms, a weather system moves in from the west late Tuesday into Wednesday and brings more rain with it.
