An Asbury Park deli owner says progress, in the form of construction, is forcing her out of business.
Rita Marano owns the Kingsley Street Deli, which has been a fixture in the community for 21 years. Marano says the city is allowing a developer to build a high-rise apartment complex near her mom and pop business. Marano says she made the tough decision to close her doors for good next week rather than sell to the developer.
Many residents say they are not against new development, but they wish it didn?t mean obliterating Asbury Park?s character and past.
