City Island residents complain a construction project is churning up an unbearable cloud of dust.
Homeowners say dust has become too common as the city replaces sewer and water lines. Some are concerned their health and the health of nearby students at Public School 175 may be at risk. Residents say constant traffic adds to the problem.
The city?s Department of Design and Construction (DCC) counters workers regularly hose down dust and sweep the area. The DCC has a field office where homeowners can voice complaints.
