Complaints against the New York City Police Department are up in some areas and down in others, according to the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB).
The latest CCRB report shows the number of complaints against police officers increased to 60 percent this March. However, the total number of complaints over the past three months has fallen compared to the same time last year.
The review board gets police misconduct complaints that include improper force, offensive language and abuse of authority. Citywide there was a jump in the number of police brutality complaints this year.
