Company wants to retrieve Titanic radio used to call for help
A new effort is underway to retrieve the radio that was used to call for help on the Titanic after the ship struck an iceberg, according to paperwork filed in federal court.
The process of getting the Marconi radio requires the removal of parts from the ship's deckhouse and approval from the federal court.
A hearing on the matter is scheduled for today.
TMS Titanic Inc. has the exclusive rights to recover artifacts from the ship. The company says this is part of its overall goal -- to educate the public with artifacts and expeditions.
