A 5-year-old handicap boy got a special gift after thieves made off with his wheelchair.
Andrew Pacheco, 5, depends on his wheelchair to get around. Thieves, however, took away his only means of transportation and that sparked some good Samaritans to jump into action.
Ben Hertz, who works at Elmora Pharmacy, took matters into his own hands and sent an email to the company that makes the wheelchair Pacheco needed.
When Convaid officials read the email, they decided to donate a custom wheelchair to Pacheco.
Pacheco's mom is so grateful for everything that was done for her son, who suffers from a disorder that took his ability to walk and talk. She says she never could have afforded to buy a new one at $2,500 without the help.
