? Montclair State University students braved the cold and rain Saturday to help restore the Passaic River in Garfield.
The students pulled trash, tires and even shopping carts out of the water. Garfield Mayor Frank Calandriello says the volunteers are helping to turn the river that was once known as one of the most contaminated in the nation into a treasure again.
The city of Garfield plans to create a riverside park.
