Dozens of residents are displaced in Bergen County. Crews battled an apartment building fire Sunday. News 12 New Jersey's Sarah Goud has more. Everyone made it out safe from the building fire in Vigoda on Palisade Avenue. The fire started around 2 p.m. There was a large and immediate emergency response. Sunday afternoon. Smoke billowed from the windows on the 4th floor at the top of the building. We got a report of smoke in apartment 9. Upon arrival we had heavy smoke shown from the building. The Vigoda Fire Department quickly set up command and called a second alarm, bringing in help from surrounding towns including Ridgefield Park, Teaneck, Hack. Fort Lee in Inglewood. All additional resources here that we needed right away within the 1st 5 to 10 minutes. They immediately attacked the fire. It spread all across the top floor. The chief told me there were about 60 people and 25 apartment units, all brought to safety. We're able to evacuate everybody out of the building. Nobody was injured. As for the structure, there are significant damage, the chief said. Part of the roof collapsed in the top corner. We're not worried about any of the structure collapsing and what's already collapsed is done. Everything else we have the surrounded area for a collapse zone just in case, but at this time we're not expecting any. Many streets in the area were shut down for the emergency crews. The work continued for hours, putting out the flames and managing hotspots. Everyone from the is displaced at this time, the Red Cross said they provided 13 families with emergency financial assistance. We're working to find out more information about the fire and are still waiting to find out the cause. In Bogoda. I'm Sarah Good, News 12, New Jersey.
