News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Hilda Estevez says rain will arrive around 2 p.m. Sunday as it travels south to north.
The rain will be heavy at times throughout the late afternoon and evening. The late-night rain can be heavy, between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.
This will leave a total of near 1 inch of rain along and north of I-78 and west of Route 206. North Jersey will likely see much more rain than the southern half of the state.
Monday will see the rain move out early with clearing skies throughout the day. The wind will pick up as the first half of the workweek concludes with at or below-average temperatures. Make sure to bring the winter gear as highs will peak in the 40s.
SUNDAY: Increasing clouds with rain for the afternoon and evening. Highs around 50. Light and variable wind.
MONDAY: Rain ends early, turning windy and partly cloudy. Highs around 50.
TUESDAY: Colder, sunny, and breezy. Highs in the 30s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy. Highs around 40.
