WHAT TO KNOW

The heavy rain that plagued many areas on Sunday left up to 5" of rain over parts of Northeast New Jersey. Flooding subsided as of Sunday afternoon.

Much better weather conditions are expected heading into the week. Canadian air will spill into the region on Monday. There will be a refreshing breeze. Abundant sunshine along with much lower humidity will make for a fine September day.

The coolest temperatures of the season so far will be experienced Monday night. Inland readings will fall to near 40 to make for a fall preview.

Moderating temperatures are expected for the midweek period under mainly sunny skies.
