While residents may have avoided disaster, residual effects of the storms from Friday and Saturday were still being felt Sunday in coastal communities.
Residents in Tuckerton say water is finally receding after storms hit the area this weekend.
On Saturday, parts of the bayfront community saw water as deep as two to three feet.
One resident told News 12 he was unable to leave his home for a few days due to the flooding.
Lenny Miller, who lived in Tuckerton his entire life, says flooding is just a part of life there. He says he is grateful that Hurricane Joaquin stayed at bay.
"We were lucky," he says. "If we got that, we would have been in trouble."
