A Passaic County restaurant has been named as having the best hot dogs in the United States.
Rutt’s Hut in Clifton was named the best place to get a hot dog in the country by website The Daily Meal.
The cash-only restaurant is famous for their Ripper hot dogs, which are deep-fried until the casings crack and split. The eatery also boasts its famous relish, made from a secret blend of mustard and spices.
The restaurant is located at 417 River Road, not far from Route 3 and Route 21.
The family-owned, cash-only business first opened in 1928.
The Daily Meal ranked 75 different hot dog restaurants across the country for their list.
Four other New Jersey eateries ranked on the list, including Maui’s Dog House in North Wildwood at No. 73, Max’s Famous Hot Dogs in Long Branch at No. 56, Tommy’s in Elizabeth at No. 32 and Jimmy Buff’s Italian Hot Dogs in West Orange at No. 23.
