Hundreds of cars and motorcycles roared through the Bronx Sunday to participate in the sixth annual Orchard Beach Car show, which raises money for charity.
The cars included classics like a 1987 Corvette, 1962 Ford Galaxy 500 and 1942 Studebaker. Jim Ilardi says his love affair with cars started as a hobby with his wife and kids and grew into the dream of building his own car. Ilardi says $70,000 later, he has a custom car.The East Coast Classic Car Association put on the event to raise money for a museum in Washington, D.C. Organizers also say over the past years, the show has raised more than $180,000 for a 9/11 widow and orphans fund.
