There's plenty of
action on the ice at the Prudential Center in Newark, but it's not hockey -- Cirque
du Soliel's "Crystal" is in residence at the arena.
It’s the first of the
42 different productions throughout Cirque du Soleil's history to feature
performers on ice, as well as the acrobatics and aerial performances that
audiences have come to know from Cirque du Soleil.
Crystal is the show's
title character, who plunges into an imaginary world when falling through ice
while skating.
"And in that
journey under the ice she goes on a journey of self-discovery," says
artistic director Robert Tannion.
The cast features more than 40 performers. "Crystal" will run at Prudential Center through Sunday.
Ticket information can be found on the Prudential Center's
website.
