Christie unveils online drug disposal locator in New Jersey
Gov. Chris Christie has unveiled an online tool to help people dispose of prescription drugs as part of a nationwide event aimed at encouraging proper disposal.
Christie said Wednesday at the Toms River Police Station that residents can now locate drop-off locations across the state using ReachNJ.gov.
The federal Drug Enforcement Administration is marking National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday and also a website allowing the public to locate nearby disposal sites.
The governor is heading a White House commission looking into the national opioid problem and dedicating his final year in office to the crisis in New Jersey. He has said he plans to submit a report to President Donald Trump by October.
The event is aimed at educating people about possible abuse involving prescription drugs.
