A young child was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after running into the path of an ambulance responding to an emergency call in Hoboken.
Hoboken police responded to the 200 block of Third Street at about 3 p.m. after receiving reports of an incident involving a child and an emergency vehicle.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Hoboken Police Department’s Traffic and Transportation Bureau, the child ran into the street and into the path of an oncoming ambulance that was responding to an unrelated call.
The child suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The EMS personnel involved in the incident were also evaluated at the scene.
Police said all roads that had been closed for the investigation have reopened.
