Child hit by pickup truck while trying to cross Rt. 22
The child was airlifted to a local trauma center.

A juvenile suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while trying to run across Route 22 in Bridgewater Tuesday.
Bridgewater police said the incident happened around 4:13 p.m. on the westbound side of Route 22 near Commons Way. Investigators determined that a Ford F-250 pickup truck was heading west on the highway at the time.
"Approximately 100 feet west of the exit ramp from Commons Way, the above-mentioned Ford F-250 struck a juvenile male that ran south across the highway, directly in front of the operator's truck," police said in a statement.
The boy was struck by the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. He was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridgewater Police Department. The crash remains under investigation.
