Over 2,000 southern New Jersey residents who are in need may soon have to go elsewhere to get their food because the Cherry Hill Food Pantry is losing its rent-free space.
The organization is looking to the public to provide help so that the pantry can remain open.
The pantry has been as its current location for over 13 years, but a new grocery store is opening in its place. The pantry bust close by Aug. 5.
The pantry has a new location to move into – an old Deacons Luggage store on the Church Road Circle in Cherry Hills. But that building is in need of repair.
Organizers are trying to raise $225,000 for demolition, drywall installation, electoral work and other improvements to the building.
