The Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention is expected to release new guidance in the coming week,
specifically on the use of masks outdoors, now that more people are vaccinated.
Experts say there is very
little possibility of transmission when you're outside, but the CDC recommends
wearing a mask when you aren't alone or with people you live with.
When it comes to masking up
outdoors, people that spoke with News 12 are split.
“To me, it makes common sense,” says Dale Fior, of Hoboken. “If you've
done and taken all the precautions, there's a time you should feel more relaxed
about it.”
"I think it's still important to keep a peace of mind for others as
well,” says Elizabeth Banas, of Hoboken. “Being really aware of other people
thoughts and feelings."
Gov. Phil Murphy says he isn't ready to change the mask mandate in New
Jersey yet, but hopes we get there soon.
