Cardinal Spellman took to the field Wednesday to play Walton in the start of the softball season.
Spellman was up 2-0 early in the game. Catrina Kostelas had a great hit, which led to Katherine Pino jogging home from first base. Pino struck out several players during her time on the pitching mound.
Spellman won the game 6-1.
