For the second time in less than a week, the Neptune Township Office of Emergency Management had to prepare for potentially dangerous and damaging weather.
In Egg Harbor Township, a gas station pumping area was crushed by its overhang, but luckily, nobody was standing there at the time. There were no injuries to report.
Cape May County was hit especially hard. Boards were ripped up due to high winds on Wildwood’s iconic boardwalk. The damage is along Andrews Avenue, where repairs were already taking place.
Damage was also seen to Cape May’s historic Congress Hall after portions of the roof were destroyed. A column was detached from the high winds as well. Trees were brought down throughout Cape May County.
